Authorities in Tennessee have arrested a man accused of forging quit-claim deeds to steal homes for just $10 before flipping them for tens of thousands in profit. Investigators say Stuart Breakstone, along with accomplice Rebecca Tuttle, falsified signatures of homeowners, buyers, and even a notary to illegally transfer properties in Memphis. One home on Ivy Road was reportedly stolen and then resold for $82,000—well below its $157,000 market value—before the crime was discovered by a rightful owner who noticed her name missing from property records.

Breakstone allegedly used stolen identification to open a bank account and deposit proceeds from the fraudulent sales, according to Memphis police. He now faces charges including theft of property over $250,000, forgery, and identity theft, while Tuttle remains at large. The scheme highlights how easily forged deeds can be filed and how devastating the consequences are for unsuspecting homeowners in Tennessee.
