Authorities in Broward County say a Miami-Dade man attempted to steal a $1 million Pembroke Pines home from a grieving widow and her four children by filing a fraudulent deed. Police allege 47-year-old Armando Porto Del Sol tried to transfer the property into his own name using forged documents that claimed to be signed by the late homeowner, Timothy Stark, who had died two months earlier. The Broward County Property Appraiser’s Office flagged the deed after noticing discrepancies and alerted the Crimes Against Property Unit.

Investigators confirmed the deed was falsified, with a notary’s stamp used without authorization. Del Sol now faces multiple felony charges, including grand theft, fraudulent use of personal identification information, and unlawful filing of false documents. The case underscores how vulnerable Florida homeowners can be to deed fraud schemes that exploit grieving families, vacant properties, and those who own homes outright.
